COERR Mae Hong Son and Mae Sarieng Organized DRR Training for Volunteers and
Fire Prevention in Temporary Shelters

   During June 14 – 18, 2021, COERR Mae Hong Son organized Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Training for interested youth and community members in Ban Mai Nai Soi Temporary Shelter, Mae Hong Son Province’s Muang District, numbering 211, of which 125 were females and 86 were males.

   The training was aimed at sharing skills and experience of the trainers and Emergency Response team in disaster risk management activity to the community members who participated in the DRR training, to be aware, convinced and to acquire skills that would enable them to join the team as volunteers or trainers for further DRR training.

   Example of the past community risk reduction activity was the fire break making.

   COERR Mae Sarieng organized Fire Prevention Training in Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter, Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province on June 4, 2021, to 248 youth of 137 females and 111 males. The contents included various hazards that could happen; prevention of fire, floods, landslides, etc.; maintenance of tools and equipment; preparation of sand bags, soil bags, etc. for early fire extinguishing; demonstration of using fire extinguishers, etc. Finally, there was a certificate hand-over ceremony for participants.

COERR Mae Sarieng Organized Fire Prevention and Extinguishing in Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter
